What’s this?

Skype chat log viewer is an application for display and export text chat history.

Note: This is Japanese version of screen shot.
Don’t worry! English and German user interface is also included.

How to use

Chat session list (upper part): List of chat sessions. To display chat history, double click it.
Text area (lower part): Displays chat text.
Show: Number of maximum entries to display.
From old / new: Display order of chat history.
Show button: Same function as double click on chat session list.
Open this Chat button: Open the chat window. If session is still available, you can continue chatting.
Save all logs..: Export all chat history to text files and html index file. Choose a blank folder for export.

Please note

.NET Framework 2.0 and Skype4COM are mandatory.
Please install them in advance.

Install

For beginners:
Go to SChatLogViewer ClickOnce Installer and click “Install”.

For advanced users:
Download ZIP file and extract it. Start SChatLogViewer.exe
If you like, create a shortcut icon on desktop, start menu or quick start etc.

Environment

  • Skype 3.5 (Maybe works with older version. Not tested.)
    Also works with Skype 4.0.0.206
  • Skype4COM 1.0.0.28 (If you installed Skype extra, it’s already installed)
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0

Tested OS with..

  • Windows XP Professional Edition SP3 32bit Japanese
  • Windows Vista Ultimate Edition SP1 32bit Japanese
  • Windows Vista Home Premium Edition SP1 32bit English
  • Windows Vista Business Edition SP1 64bit English (Note: Please use 0.2.3 or newer!)
